WHO WE ARE
The Sunrei Wellness is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in the belief that wellness is something we practice, maintain, and return to throughout our lives. The things that help people stay well are not always easy to access. Cost, time, availability, circumstance, and whether a space feels welcoming can all shape who gets to participate in wellness opportunities and who gets left out.
We believe care should feel practical, welcoming, and connected to real life. To us, wellness is maintenance. There is no single way to be well, and we believe people deserve more ways to discover what helps them feel grounded, supported, connected, and more like themselves.
OUR MISSION
The Sunrei Wellness Inc. exists to make wellness more accessible by creating free, and sponsored opportunities for movement, mental health support, and restorative community experiences that help people care for their well-being and live well.
OUR VISION
We envision communities where access to wellness is not determined by income, circumstance, time, or whether someone feels they belong in traditional wellness spaces. We envision a world where caring for ourselves before crisis is a normal part of how we live.
Why This Matters
Wellness access is not only about having a gym nearby or knowing where to find a free yoga class. It also includes having the time, financial resources, support, and sense of belonging needed to care for our mental and emotional well-being consistently.
More than 1 in 5 U.S. adults live with a mental illness.
Among adults with a mental illness who reported needing mental health treatment but did not receive it in 2024, 65% said they believed treatment would cost too much. Nearly half said they did not know how or where to get treatment.
Sunrei exists in the space before and alongside crisis by creating more opportunities for people to move, connect, access support, and build practices that help them care for their well-being over time.

OUR STORY
The Sunrei Wellness began before it had a name.
When founder, Camrei Terrell, began teaching yoga in 2021, movement had already become deeply personal to her. It was one of the places she could return to herself, where she could get out of her head, reconnect with her body, and make space for what she was carrying.
As she began teaching, one thing became clear: something that had supported her own well-being should not always be out of reach for someone else because of cost. So she made a personal commitment to teach at least one free yoga class every week for as long as she was a yoga teacher.
Week after week, those classes became more than movement.
They became places where people could breathe, connect, try something new, come back after a hard week, or simply have an hour that asked nothing of them except to show up. They also revealed something larger: people need access to the things that help them stay well before they are already exhausted, overwhelmed, or in crisis.
As Camrei’s work expanded into mental health counseling, community programming, and wellness facilitation, that understanding only deepened. Movement mattered, but it was one piece of a much bigger picture. Rest mattered. Mental health support mattered. Connection mattered. Feeling like there was space for you mattered.
The Sunrei Wellness grew from that belief.
The name Sunrei is rooted in Camrei’s faith and in the reminder that “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
At the heart of The Sunrei Wellness is a belief in light, specifically, your light.
We believe difficult seasons can make it harder to recognize what is still within us: hope, strength, possibility, identity, and the capacity to begin again. Wellness does not create those things for us. Sometimes, it simply gives us the space and support to find our way back to them.
That is what Sunrei continues to grow toward: creating more places where people can care for themselves, reconnect with what supports them, and remember that their light was never ours to give.
You are the SUNrei.
OUR VALUES
-
Wellness should be accessible, not exclusive. We prioritize removing barriers and creating meaningful opportunities for participation over perfection, appearances, exclusivity, or trends. Access means considering not only cost, but whether people feel welcomed, represented, supported, and able to participate
-
Wellness is something we practice, not something we reach for only when life becomes too much. We believe in caring for our mental, physical, and emotional well-being consistently, not only in moments of burnout or crisis.
-
There is no one right way to practice wellness. We honor different starting points, bodies, backgrounds, experiences, and capacities by creating spaces that are welcoming, affirming, adaptable, and rooted in choice.
-
We believe caring for ourselves does not have to happen alone. Connection, belonging, shared experiences, and collective support are meaningful parts of our well-being.
-
We believe every person carries a light of their own. Through joy and difficulty, that light remains. We believe wellness can help us nurture it, recognize it, and allow it to shine in our own way.
